Welcome to Be Kind, Mama!

Hey there, mamas! I want to start out by introducing myself. My name is Natalie Willard, and I am a mama to a beautiful baby girl. While being a mama and wife are my main priorities, I also work as a counselor since I have received my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My hope in stepping into the world of blogging is to create a space for other mamas, or soon to be mamas to feel heard, seen, loved, and not alone. I will share about my own journey with the physical, mental, emotional, etc. aspects that affect this very large part of my life.

Every mama’s journey is different starting from when you choose to begin creating a family or are surprised with a pregnancy. Let me be clear, no one‘s journey is completely “easy”. Some people may encounter more challenges or trials in their pregnancies, deliveries, postpartum, and parenthood. The mamas who seem to have it “easy” or not as bad as so-and-so face their own challenges as well and want to be seen and heard. I’ve been told a couple times that I had an easy pregnancy and delivery which led to me feeling, as if the hard work put in for months, was not as valued as much as another mama, who encountered more or different challenges.

Just to be clear, I am by no means in expert on any of these areas, just a mama who is sharing her story and experiences. In reading, I hope you can get a laugh when you need one, feel heard and not alone through the stories of possible similar experiences, and have this be space as a positive outlet for you as I hope it will be for me also. Mamas, we are not alone in any phase of our story.
